I cannot fully navigate a PDF file

Question

I am a security contractor who receives invitation to bid on jobs. These bid invitations always include a drawing "Bid Set" which I have been opening in Acrobat Reader and scrolling through the 80 (or so) drawings that are included in the single PDF file. I have just received a file that is 78 Mb in size that I can open, using Acrobat Reader, but after about 2 to 3 minutes, or scrolling aboout half way down the drawings, acrobat Reader stops responding and I can no longer scroll down to se the drawings. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for the help.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, the application is freezing on scrolling the PDF halfway down.

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? PLease try with a different PDF file and check

What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version installed Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Please try to turn off the protected mode for testing (Win Only) Go to Edit > Preferences > Enhanced Security > Uncheck 'Enable Protected mode at startup ' Turn off the protected mode and uncheck 'Enhanced Security' > Click OK and reboot the computer once.

Note: Please turn on the security after testing to avoid any security risks.

If the PDF is stored on a shared network/drive, please download and save the PDF on your computer locally and see if that works.
