I have a large document and it is not displaying and the search command does not work

I have loaded a 400 page document that is 18 MB into the Reader Software.

The pages display very slowly and then stop after about page 8.  The search command also does not work within the document.

I have tried loading another, smaller document into the software and it works fine.  I tried the troubleshooting offered another user herein with a similar problem such as toggling the settings for large documents and quick searches and it had no effect.

I would appreciate any help that could be provided.
