Question

I have a PDF file that display correctly in acrobat, but not in reader

The linked pdf file was created in latex, and displays correctly (with the dark blue blackboard

background) in Acrobat. However, the background disappears in Reader.

AI does not help.
How can one solve the situation?

Note also that if I try to download the Reader from Adobe, it downloads an older version (ending with 12771) than the one I have installed. So there is a second issue here as well.

Thank you for the information.

Please try manually updating the application. To do this, go to Menu > Help > Check for updates within the application. Alternatively, you can install the latest update from the following page: 26.001.21789 Out of cycle update, Aug 11, 2026.

Could you please share a screenshot of how it appears in Acrobat and Reader? Additionally, please check if this issue occurs with this specific file or with others as well.

As mentioned, the PDF background appears in Acrobat but disappears in the Reader. Could you please confirm whether you are using the mobile version of Reader or the desktop application? Additionally, please provide the version details for the Reader and the operating system on your device.

My problem is a Mac Desktop Problem.

I use the MacOS X Reader version (Desktop)

The OS version is the last one: Tahoe 26.6.1 (25G76)

The Adobe Reader version is the last one:

Architecture: arm64
Processor: Apple M3
Build: 26.1.21789.0
AGM: 8.0.2
CoolType: 11.0.0
JP2K: 4.0.2.54782

Just for completeness, the file displays correctly, with the dark blue background, on Safari on my iphone (also latest iOS).
