IE Plugin will not install

Windows 7 Pro x64.  Acrobat Reader DC, Internet Explorer 11.  When you install Acrobat Reader, the plug in never shows up under manage add-ons in IE.  I have uninstalled, ran the adobe cleaner and reinstalled, and the plugin still isn't there.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused, as per the description above, you are not able to Adobe PDF plug-in on IE 11, Is that correct?

Please refer to the Adobe article and try the suggestions Configure browser to use the Adobe PDF plug-in to open online PDF files

Also, try the following steps to enable the plug-in:

  • Repair Adobe Reader installation files from help>repair installation.
  • Reboot the machine once.
  • Now in Manage add-ons window of your Internet Explorer please right click on the Adobe Reader plugin & make sure it is Enabled.
  • Restart the browser once and check.
  • Make sure that you have the latest version of Adobe Reader installed Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution
