Import and export form answers on Reader for reader enabled forms

I have downloaded the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. It appears that the ability to import and export PDF form data has been entirely removed. Is that correct, or is it just really well hidden away, please?

Hi DidntEatHisGreens,

Thank you for reaching out.

As mentioned, the feature was available for the reader-enabled forms. Could you please confirm where the option used to be so we can check with the team? Also, you have the option to switch back to the old UI from the “Menu” on the top left corner of Windows and View Menu on MacOS. Let us know if the option is available in the Old UI.

The import and export PDF form data feature is available in Acrobat. In Acrobat, open the form and go to All tools > Prepare Form on the left-hand pane. Then click on three dots and select Export data or Import data. Check the screenshot below for reference:

You may also refer to the steps suggested in the following help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/collecting-pdf-form-data.html#export-file-data

We acknowledge that the new Acrobat represents a notable change. However, we hope that as you get familiar with the new interface, you will be able to be more productive & get more out of Acrobat. To learn more about the new Acrobat, please refer to the following featured post: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/learn-about-new-acrobat/td-p/14078856

A point to note is that as we made these changes in the interface, we have tried to ensure all tools & features that are currently supported retain their familiar functionalities and workflows as they did in the previous version. We are committed to addressing any gaps or issues reported by users related to any break in current workflows in all our past & upcoming releases. In case any of your current workflows are not functioning as expected, do share it with us on this thread, and we will address them with the highest priority.

Let us know if you need any help or questions.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

This option only existed in Acrobat, not in the free Reader.

It was certainly available for reader enabled forms in older versions of Reader.

OK, I stand corrected. For Reader-Enabled forms it's possible that it was possible. You can probably still do it using a script, but my guess is Adobe changed the interface so it doesn't check for that any more and just prompts you to upgrade to Acrobat... Yet another bug in the new version.
