Impossible install Reader DC on Mac

Hello everybody

I have uninstalled reader DC because it didn't work properly. I have deleted the app from Application.

Then downloaded it from the adobe site and started the installation.

At half the installation says "there is a newer version of the software so the installation cannot be completed."

But there is no Reader whatsoever in my Mac.

I have uninstalled everything from Adobe, CC and Photoshop, to be sure there were no shared files.

Any other places to look at?

Any suggestion?

Hi Giosheringam,

Sorry about the inconvenience caused.

Could you please confirm, have you installed any trial version of Adobe Acrobat or is there any other version of Adobe Acrobat that you see under Application?

If yes, then you may try removing the preferences manually to see if that works.

  • Go>Go to folder> ~/library/Application support/Adobe/(Acrobat,Acrobat2015, all acrobat folders)[delete]
  • ~/library/preferences/(*com.adobe.acc.adobedesktopservice.plist,*com.adobe.acrobat.pdfviewer.plist,*com.adobe.reader.DC.webResource)
  • Go/Go to folder>/library/Application support/ Adobe/Acrobat[delete]
  • Go/Go to folder>/library/Preferences/ *com.adobe.Acrobat.pro.plist,*com.adobe.AdobeAcroCEFHelper.plist (if exist )
  • Go/Application/Adobe Acrobat [remove]

Try installing the application and check again.

It worked!

Thanks a lot, now everything is ok.

Please consider creating an uninstall program somewhere in the adobe interface.
