Installation issues. Higher version in installation location but unable to open adobe files online

when i try to open adobe files online i am directed to the installation page as it is not recognised that my mac has it installed.

i try to go through the process of installation but i am confronted with this message each time.

i've removed it from the installation location and it still gives the same message.

if anyone could help id be really grateful
