Interactive pdf problem with video

I am submitting a grant proposal and have embedded a video in the pdf using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.  I've already learned that the video doesn't play for people with desktops running Windows that include pdf readers. I am trying to figure out which free reader to point people to and am hoping someone will be able to help me.

I don't see the 'private message'.  Can you please clarify?

    Thanks,

    Jim

A co-worker of mine just downloaded Acrobat Reader DC and tried to view the embedded video.  He received a message that he had to install Flash Player. So, I now understand that people will have to download both programs.

    Thanks,

    Jim

    Hi Dawgmoore,

As mentioned above, that the videos has embedded in the pdf using Adobe Acrobat DC. Also, that the videos doesn't play for the people with desktop running windows that included pdf readers, so is that Adobe Reader DC (free) application you have referred above?

You may check the following help document to know more about it- Playing video, audio, and multimedia formats in PDFs, Adobe Acrobat

Add audio, video, and interactive objects to PDFs in Adobe Acrobat

    Hope this helps.

Thank you, Akanchha.  Does this mean that I only need Acrobat Reader DC and not both that program and Flashplayer?  Could I possibly send you a copy of the page for you to check to make sure?

    Thank,s

    Hi Jim,

To run the media files audio/video you should have the Flashplayer installed, not just to view video embedded to the pdf also to supprot other media files.

Yes absolutely, you can share the sample file with us. Please check the private message to find the email.
