Interactive PDFs and External files
Hi all. I am working on a catalog for a client which consists of a 12 page PDF of about 100 products. I added a hyperlink to a File for each of the products in InDesign and exported to Interactive PDF. When you click on the products in the PDF, I'd like them to open the linked data sheet in a new Acrobat window, but they keep trying to open them as a URL in a web browser (after asking me to trust the files). The only way I can seem to get around this is to go through every product in the PDF and manually link each one to the external PDFs for each data sheet within Acrobat. So my question is, how can I do this in InDesign so it works as it does when done in Acrobat? Every time my client wants anything changed in the master catalog, I have to export it and then re-link every product data sheet. Becoming very tedious. The final catalog will reside on a thumb drive and I am linking the data sheets from there so InDesign has an absolute path, but it still only works properly if I add the links in Acrobat as opposed to InDesign. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Bob
