Is Acrobat Reader Free?

I am an office administrator. I want some of my co-workers to use Acrobat Reader without having to log into our Adobe account. If Acrobat Reader is free, as it has always been, why does Abobe require the user log into thier account?

Hi @Air Dome

Thanks for reaching out.

Adobe Acrobat Reader is freeware. That can be downloaded from Adobe's website. Users can open, view, fill, sign, and annotate their PDFs without signing in to the application.

If you have been asked to Sign In, then there are a couple of things you need to check:

1- Ensure its Acrobat Reader is downloaded, not Acrobat Pro (paid application). They both look identical.

2- If you have downloaded Acrobat Pro already and someone is using it, then you can't keep the Acrobat Reader on the same machine.

3- If users are accessing any file saved on Adobe Cloud, they must also Sign In to the Acrobat Reader app. Because the cloud account is synced to the email

Let us know if this helps!

Thanks,

Akanchha
