Issue in installing Adobe Reader on Mac

I am trying to download adobe reader on my Imac (version el capitain 11) - but when i want to open this download nothing happens! I do not understand why.

I need adobe reader for my taxes...

Please somebody help me.

    Please try to install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC from here: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

    If that does not works, try the troubleshooting steps provided here: Troubleshoot Adobe Acrobat Reader download and installation on Mac OS
