Issues higlighting text in some PDFs

Lately, I've had to work with a few documents where highlighting text has issues.

If I try to manually highlight a line, for some reason, text further up the page gets highlighted.

If I type CTRL-A, the program hangs for a bit and then it looks like it's highlighting each letter one at a time.

If I copy and paste this into a text editor, I get an issue with lines repeating all over the place and the document is 10x as long as it really is.

If I load them in a web browser, everything works as expected.

I have other PDFs where everything works as expected. I am using the latest veriosn (24.005.20307) on Windows.

Does anyone have any idea what the issue might be with these particular PDF files? Thank you.

Hello,

I hope you're doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response and the trouble.

Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine: 24.005.20421 Optional update, Feb 24, 2025. Check for any pending updates from the Menu > help > check for updates, install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and check. For more information, see this: https://adobe.ly/43cZbLD.

Is this issue occurring with all PDFs or just one specific file? If you have the Acrobat desktop app installed and access to the source file, try recreating the PDF and then adding comments or highlights.

Let us now how it goes.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
