Hi,

This is a browser rendering pdf issue but i am just hoping if someone has an answer

I am trying to open a pdf which is generated in one of our applications in chrome. In windows 7 using Chrome( any version after 67), the pdf is opening properly with all Japanese texts. Here the Chrome configuration is all default post installation. However in windows 10 with same version of Chrome, the Japanese texts are not shown in pdf when viewed in Chrome. But here some of Chrome configurations are maintained by IT team and are not in defaults. However we are not sure what configuration change is causing this issue. Please help. Attached is one such sample pdf form and also screenshot of issue. In adobe reader DC it works fine.

Proper rendering in Chrome with default settings and also in Adobe Reader DC:

Issue in Chrome with changed settings by admin

Thanks,

Vinay

Adobe have the concept of special Japanese font support for their products, but this does not seem to exist in Chrome. It may be that it relies on the presence of Japanese fonts in the system and they are absent? I suggest you check whether these are embedded fonts (very important) and then post in a suitable Google forum. If nothing else they may know how to switch on diagnostic messages.
