language italian not available

as per the title, the Italian language is not available, which incidentally was present until recently when I had to uninstall and reinstall Adobe Reader due to an icon problem. it is not possible to select the Italian language because it is not available in the drop-down menu and even selecting the "choose the language based on the system" item does not work. so I ask you: do I have to reinstall everything or can I download the Italian language package and copy it where appropriate?
I hope the latter
bye and thanks

Hi there,

Hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with the Italian language not showing up in Adobe Reader after reinstalling. Here are a few things you can try:

1. Check if Italian is installed via Preferences

  • Go to Edit > Preferences > Language and:
  • Under Application language, ensure "Choose at application startup" or "Same as the operating system" is selected.
  • Restart the app and see if you're prompted to choose a language.
  • If Italian still doesn’t appear, then it might not have been downloaded during reinstallation.

2. Repair the installation

  • Open Adobe Reader
  • Go to Help > Repair Installation
  • Let the process complete, and then restart the app
  • This can sometimes re-trigger the download of missing language packs.

3. Reinstall with Italian support

  • If the above doesn’t work, you may want to:
  • Uninstall Reader completely
  • Reinstall it from the official Adobe Reader download page https://adobe.ly/4lWjFiG
  • Before downloading, click “More download options”, and select Italian as the preferred language

Currently, Adobe doesn’t officially provide standalone language packs for manual installation. So copying a language folder from another machine might not work as expected or be stable.

Let us know how it goes.
