While using Firefox browser loading a PDF into Acrobat Reader DC begins continuously opening tabs until window is closed. This does not occur when using MS Edge browser in which a PDF loads normally.

Acrobat Reader DC was uninstalled; registry cleaned and compacted; computer restarted and Acrobat Reader DC downloaded and reinstalled...problem persists.

Do the tabs appear in the Firefox window or the Acrobat Reader window?

What do you mean by "continuously loading" tabs?

The tabs appear in the Firefox window. I didn't look closely at the icons on thumbnails of my PDF files when I posted the above question, but I notice now that they all have changed from the Adobe Reader icon to the Firefox icon. When I  click on any PDF file, the Firefox browser opens and begins loading tabs at the rate of about three per second until I close the browser.

I uninstalled the Firefox browser, after which the MS Edge browser icon appeared on all of my PDF files which brought me to realize that I hadn't made Adobe Reader the default PDF file reader. On doing so, the icons changed to Adobe Reader and the PDF's opened normally. After reinstalling the Firefox browser, I went to Settings>General>Applications and made Adobe Reader the default PDF reader. Now web based PDF files in Firefox are opening normally.

I appreciate your questions as they started me going through this process!
