Unable to recover sticky notes from a pdf doc after my laptop was rebooted accidentally. I have had a look at the auto save section on my hard drive, but I can't open the file because Adobe can't read it. Can anyone please help

Thank you

Vera

    Hello Vera,

We're sorry for the trouble you had, try opening the files saved in the auto-save in Adobe Reader and see if this brings the sticky notes/comments in the PDFs you made.

Right Click on the file and choose Open With>Adobe Reader. If Adobe Reader-created a backup copy, which it will do if the option under Edit>Preferences>Documents>Automatically save documents changes is enabled. If it is, then the temp files should be under the AutoSave folder of Acrobat, which is: C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\AutoSave.

If there are no files, then there are no options to recover the sticky notes/comments.

Let us know how it goes and share your observation.

    Thanks,

    Anand Sri.
