Question

Mac OS Safari Plugin in Japanese?

I noticed after a recent update that the Safari plugin is displaying text in Japanese. I tried uninstalling and re-installing Reader and Acrobat DC and the associated plugins, but nothing seems to work. I've checked the language settings in Acrobat and have tried both system default (US English) and setting to US English. Nothing works. Am I missing something?

Thanks.

Hi mmphelps,

Could you please check if the issue mentioned in the link given below is similar to yours?

When I try to open file a dialog box with chinese or japanese script appears in a black screen

What is the version of Acrobat Reader/ Adobe Acrobat installed on the computer?

What is the version of Mac OS?

Awaiting your response.

Acrobat: 2017 (Continuous) build 17.9.20044.222436

Mac OS Sierra: 10.12.6 Beta (16G12b)

The issue in the link you provided is the same. However, the solution posted in that thread (and marked as the Correct Answer) does not actually solve the problem. Accepting the EULA makes the dialog go away, but it does not change the language used in the plugin to English; the status when opening a document is still in Japanese.
