Mac OS Sierra version 10.12.6 Adobe Acrobat Reader DC not opening any PDF

Hello,

I have Mac OS Sierra version 10.12.6 and every time I try opening a PDF with Adobe the application image will pop up on my dock but nothing appears on the screen. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well as restarting my laptop but still it does not work. I've tried multiple PDFs but none will open. Anyone know how to fix this problem???

Thank you for your time!

    Hi Fz.lexa,

As per the description above, you are not able to open any PDF file in Adobe Reader DC, Is that correct?

Please try to open few files with Reader, go to Window>Cascade>Tile and see if it brings up any PDF files.

If the issue still persists, please reset the preferences of Reader DC, to reset the preferences, please refer to How to reset Preference settings in Acrobat.  Link: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1595848

Hope this helps, and keep us posted with the results.

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.

We apologize for the trouble, Ben. Please reboot the machine once, and then try to run the uninstaller file to remove the Acrobat. If the  issue persists, please trash all the Acrobat folder from Application and Utilities, remove the trashed folders from trash as well.

Restart the machine again and install the Acrobat again from Download Pro or Standard versions of Acrobat DC, 2017, XI, or X

Let us know how it goes.

If it's Acrobat Pro DC Student Edition, a  serial number based software, you can remove it as well by running the uninstaller file of Acrobat Pro DC Application.

Run the uninstaller file and remove Acrobat Pro DC, restart the machine, then remove the Acrobat folders from

    Anand,

I am unable to complete the uninstall process. When it asks me to authorise the uninstall, I enter the password and it sends me back to the dialogue box asking me to authorise the uninstall. A circular loop! I'll try to install a new version over the top and let you know how I go.

    Ben,

The password prompt is to enter the computer password, enter the Mac password you have and finish the installation process.

Try to reboot the machine once and then uninstall Acrobat. After uninstallation, reboot the machine again and remove the Acrobat folders. Reboot and install it back.

    Hey Anand

This was completely unhelpful advice. I am not using windows. The subject line was MAC SIERRA! I am looking for the update for 10.12.6, you only have updates to 10.12.

    Thanks Mike
