Mac OS Update Unable to use Adobe Reader

The update to Mojave has made Reader unusable.

I uninstalled Reader and attempted to re-install

The install failed claiming a higher version was already installed.

I attempted to run the cleaner, however it would not allow me to as it did not detect either software on the computer.
