MacOS Catalina and latest Acrobat Reader DC - constant crashing with commented PDF's

Dear Forum

When we have PDF files that were commented on by other users in Acrobat Pro, then on my Macbook opening them causes Acrobat to crash (turning rainbow wheel).

It seems that other Macs with Acobat Pro can still open the files. Also windows Acrobat works. But not mine.

What can I do to debug this?

Any help would be appreciated because this makes Acrobat unuseable, which I am sure is understandable.
