Hi,

I have a brand new fresh macbook air 2025 - Whenever I try to download AcroRdrSCADC2500120937_MUI.DMG the download times out - I've tried multiple browsers and attempted to download via both;

https://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/

and

https://get.adobe.com/reader/direct

Both fail. I was able to download the correct .DMG on my andoird phone, I then uploaded to WeTransfer and was able to download the .DMG in under a minute. So something strange is happening with my Mac and the Adobe servers. However, now I have the correct DMG, I get the following error:

"The disk image couldn't be opened. The operation couldn't be completed. Operation not permitted."

Is it possible to download Creative Cloud and use the free Reader via that? Or is there some way of getting it to work?

Hello @Dynamic_Sunrise2722

I hope you are doing well, and thank you for reaching out.

Try connecting to a different network type, like a wired connection, disable any VPN connection temporarily if it is an IT-managed machine, then use the direct download link to install Acrobat Reader: https://adobe.ly/44xECJq

Remove the current DMG file that you transferred from the machine and delete it from the trash. Use the Acrobat Cleaner tool to remove any corrupt or conflicting installation files, and restart the machine. And, try the download and installation process.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

Thanks! it's not an IT managed machine, there's no VPN active - I tried the Cleaner Tool, but it couldn't detect any software installed. I retstarted and tried to download again but the same issue is occuring.

Hello @Dynamic_Sunrise2722

Thank you for sharing the details. Please ensure that the operating system has all the mandatory and optional updates installed. Restart the machine after updating the OS. For testing purposes, create a new user account with full admin rights, and try installing Acrobat Reader from the direct link.

Try connecting to a completely different network type, and check.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
