Make my PDF viewer accept Adobe Reader

If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document.

I GET THIS MESSAGE WHEN I TRY TO OPEN A FILE ON MY MAC.

How do I make my viewer accept this kind of Doc? Is there some click I need to make to Adobe, or "Preview" or what?

Hello Michaeln,

We're sorry for the trouble you had viewing the PDF file. As correctly mentioned by Aandi and Dave, it seems that you are trying to view the PDF in Preview/browser and it is using its own PDF viewer.

Refer to the following Adobe article which discusses the issue PDF won’t display. Please wait …

Download the latest version of Adobe Reader from Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Feel free to update this discussion for any further assistance.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

If you are using a web browser to try and view a pdf file, it could be using its own viewer which ay not work for many types of pdf files. You need to download the file and open it in Reader.

Stop using Preview. Use Reader.
