malware virus that converts PDFs to .aesir format

Microsoft assisted with getting rid of the virus that corrupted my PDF documents but I need assistance with converting them back to the original version.

    Not any ordinary virus. That was ransomware. There's nothing any Adobe software can do for you. Kapersky has a ransomware decrypter that they say will help but I've never used it and won't vouch for it. Still probably worth your investigation.

      Probably gone for good. This is why we make backups.

      Correct. And probably a good idea to keep the real important backups somewhere other than your main workstation.

        Could you please confirm which application you are using in order to access the pdf document?

        and do you have backup of your actual file saved somewhere?
