Menu item "Check for updates" not available

Hello,

we are using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (32-bit), Version: 2021.005.20058.
The menu item "check for updates" ist available on some computers.

How can we recover the menu item "Check for updates"?

You will likely need to delete bUpdater registry value in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\FeatureLockDown

Basic Configuration — Deployment Planning and Configuration (adobe.com)

Keep in mind - if bUpdater was set by a transform created by Customization Wizard and deployed with Reader, this registry value will likely get reinstalled when next MSI transaction takes place, for example next available update is installed.

You will need to completely uninstall Reader and install it without customization of this registry.

Change the Value Data from 0 to 1
Open Adobe Acrobat Reader
Help > Check for Updates should appear
