HI,

we have found the known issue here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/known-issues-acrobat-dc-reader.html

Sandbox

  • Problem: Access Denied error when trying to open PDF file from symbolic
         link via UNC path. [3844582]

We have the issue that all PDF opened get this error as the C:\users\%username% is delivered as part of User Profile disk as symbolic link and Acrobat Reader can't handle it.

All public entries only sugguest to disable the Security Feature > Sandbox Properties > Enable Protected mode at startup

https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2271428

https://anandthearchitect.com/2014/04/17/rds-2012r2profile-disk-adobe-reader-x-says-there-was-an-error-opening-this-document-access-denied/

http://trickyponywindows.blogspot.com/2014/04/rds-2012r2profile-disk-adobe-reader-x.html

found also this blog from January 2018 but useless no Resolution from Adobe as usual. It seems Adobe does not care about Enterprise customers and want us to move to other PDF Readers instead.

Re: Bug 3844582 access denied symbolic links

This is not allowed in our VDI with UPD due of Security reasons. Is there any timeline for this bug ID when this is planned to be fixed?
