Mouse cursor has turned into a black box

My cursor has turned into this black square. This happened after my laptop was low on battery and shut down. I've tried some of the things that were already posted in other forms but nothing has helped. I tried uninstalling Adobe Acrobat and installing it again but that didn't help either.
