Multiple paged PDF's Creating system error on printer

I am using a HP color laserjet mpf m277 printer.  I can print 1 page and 2 page documents successfully.  Every time i go to print pdf's with 5 or more pages i get a system error page and have to reboot the printer.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer.  I have also uninstalled and reinstalled adobe acrobat.  The problem continues after both reinstallments.  I have contacted HP and they say the problem is with adobe.  The printer prints fine with other programs such as microsoft word.

Please check for any pending/latest updates of Adobe Reader from Help>Check for updates. Reboot the machine after the installation of updates.

You can also repair the installation files of Adobe Reader from Help>Repair installation(only for Windows). Reboot the machine after the repair.

Make sure that the latest driver for the printer is installed. try printing the multi-page PDF as an image and see if this brings any difference, refer to Print PDF as image | Adobe Acrobat, Reader
