Hi,

I have multiple pdf files which included table content in these pdf files. How to import to excel to different sheets in one files? Thanks.

    Hello @ektrontek

Thanks for the details. Since you are using the free Adobe Reader, note that Reader cannot export or convert PDFs to Excel at all. That needs Acrobat Pro/Standard or a paid Export PDF subscription. We also checked and verified your current Adobe ID (email), which you have used to log in to the community platform, and don't see any active license/subscription. If you have a different Adobe ID(email) associated with the license, then log in using the ID, and try the suggestions using Acrobat/Reader shared in the previous response.

The reason "several files together" did not work: Excel's Data > Get Data > From File > From PDF handles one PDF at a time. To get each PDF on its own sheet, you run it once per file: In Excel

    1. Data > Get Data > From File > From PDF > pick the first PDF.

    2. In the Navigator, tick the table you want, then click Load (this puts it on its own sheet).

    3. Repeat for each PDF. Each one loads to a new sheet in the same workbook.

I hope this helps, and let us know if you need any assistance.

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.

    Hello @ektrontek.

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out. We're sorry for the trouble you had.

Could you please share more details about the workflow?

    1. Are you using Adobe Acrobat Pro or the Reader desktop app?

    2. Are you trying to import all PDFs into a single Excel workbook with one worksheet per PDF, or something else? (A) One worksheet per PDF, (B) Combine all data into one worksheet, (C) Not specified.

    3. Are you on Windows or macOS, and what is the version?

    4. Are the PDFs digitally created PDFs or scanned PDFs?

Please note that there is no single Adobe Acrobat button that takes several separate PDFs and drops each one onto its own tab in one Excel workbook. Acrobat converts one PDF to one Excel file at a time. Also, note that the free Acrobat Reader cannot export to Excel at all; that needs Acrobat Pro or Standard, or a paid Export PDF / PDF Pack subscription.

    Suggestions:

    1. In Excel, go to Data > Get Data > From File > From PDF.

    2. Pick a PDF. In the Navigator, Excel shows the tables (and pages) it detected. Select the table(s) you want and click Load.

    3. Repeat from PDF for each of your PDFs, loading each to its own worksheet. That gives you one workbook with a separate tab per PDF.

In Acrobat Pro/Standard, open each PDF and choose All tools > Export a PDF > Microsoft Excel. In the export settings, you can have it put each table or page on its own worksheet. You get one .xlsx per PDF. Open those workbooks in Excel, then right-click each sheet tab > Move or Copy > "To book:" [your destination workbook] to gather every PDF's sheet into one file.
