My Adobe is refusing to Scan & OCR - it keeps saying "Scan & OCR is getting installed. Please wait to use this tool".

My Adobe is refusing to Scan & OCR - it keeps saying "Scan & OCR is getting installed. Please wait to use this tool". I have reinstalled it, I have restarted my pc, I have signed out and back in to Adobe, nothing has worked.

    Sorry for the troubled experience, and thanks for reaching out.

    It is likely you installed Adobe Reader, a free app, and have now switched to Acrobat Pro, a paid app with additional features. Now the app is auto-upgrading to Acroabt Pro in the background. If, for some reason, the installation in the background gets stuck, this may happen.

     

    What we can do here is:

    • And Reinstall Acrobat
