My File has disappeared but Highlights are present

Hello,

I am hoping you can help me retrieve my file. The file disappeared after I had made all of my comments and highlights to it, however the highlights are still visable on my screen by the text from the file that was highlighted is now gone. How might I fix this? I need help ASAP!
