hi

we are building complex pdfs where we use links in the pdf to different pages on the pdf

so oursite has custom menus which uses a pdf stored on the site

we need the pdf to automatically open full screen full width on page 1 AND NOT allow adobe to scroll off the page ie to use the pdf links to navigate to the next page

any suggestions would be welcome

george

Actually, it might be possible to do that using a set of custom-made scripts, but I think it's a bad idea. Instead, just split you file into separate PDF files and link from the first page to the other files. That way the user won't be able to just scroll up and down to the next pages, they'll have to click the links to actually get there.

sometimes the obvious solution is overlooked...

my partner who creates these complex pdfs uses Powerpoint to author then outputs to pdf...

I asked him to send me the ppt file but latest version of powerpoint does not output to HTML5 which would be my choice (since I have morecontrol over these) he tells me that his version does output to html5...

sadly older versions of acrobat also converted pdf to html but not the dc version

btw... what does dc stand for???

    DC stands for Document Cloud.

And of course it's possible to export a PDF with Acrobat DC to an HTML file...

let me modify the question for responders who provide no evidence to support their answers...

if native pdf does not have that functionality then can you suggest a wordpress plugin which provides that functionality? ( I know of one that partially provide that solution)

This is not possible if using Adobe client software, which does not allow creators to take away control from the end user. There might of course be server side plug-ins that render PDF files into HTML pages. That would be nothing to do with Acrobat Reader though, so off topic. So, on topic: NOT POSSIBLE.
