Need help with "Read Out Loud" function!!

I'm using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC on a Windows 10 computer, and for some reason, both Microsoft David and Microsoft Zira (The default text-to-speech voices) read with insane pauses between each word. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to have them read my PDF files smoothly like a normal human being. Please help!

    Hi Stephenl3280885,

    Is it one particular document in which you are experiencing this problem? Or is this a common issue with every document?

    You may try changing the preferences setting of the "Read out loud" option and see if that makes a difference.

    Go to Edit> Preferences>Reading>Read out loud options>Use default speech attributes (If its selected then uncheck)

    Set the "word per minute" accordingly and click OK

    Try again, if after increasing the words per minute makes a difference or not?
