Needing assistance with Adobe to work on application

I am needing assistance with Adobe Acrobat DC. I have the application on my laptop but when I go to open it, it shows up on my web browser and won't let me edit my documents such as compiling documents together.

It seems that you have installed the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC application, which is free software. If you have an Adobe Acrobat Pro DC subscription, please install the Acrobat desktop application from this link: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/download-install-acrobat-subscription.html.
