New documents opening in header format only. Help!!!

Since my update any new documents I open on my Mac are in a header format only and I have to use CMD L to open the document.  Older saved PDFs are not impacted.  How do I get this version to open new PDFs in a readable format?  The extra steps are a pain.

    Hi robwetm70946687,

    Could you please try rebooting the computer then opening pdfs in Reader and see if that works?

    Please confirm the version of Acrobat Reader installed on the machine.
