Question

New issue to report with build 20071

We have to print protected pdf's from multiple vendors that require the IRM client for PDF. Worked fine on version 20063

but 20071 and now 20074 pop up a message stating "IRM client for PDF cannot run with this version of Acrobat"

2 questions, 1, can this be fixed? and 2, have uninstalled 20071 and reinstalled 20063 and disabled the Adobe Update services in Windows via services.msc but Adobe still updates. How can I keep from updating until fixed?

thanks

    See screenshot below.

Get this error upon opening reader dc. running win10 on all workstations,

when this was working these docs only open within reader desktop program, couldn't open in browser.

They are basically downloaded straight from the vendor websites and open directly in Adobe. Have to

provide user name and password. worked on all previous versions of Adobe reader up to build 20071.

Unable to share with you any copy of pdf's in question but according to the IT staff at the websites that use

the IRM Client add-in all their users are effected.

Only fix so far is to reinstall build 20063. Been difficult removing Adobe ARM to prevent updating to newer versions.

Tried unchecking boxes as requested but had no effect.

    Hello Ericj,

We're sorry for the trouble you had with Adobe Reader, is it possible to post a screenshot of the error you get? To share the screenshot, refer to https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-7043#jive_content_id_How_do_I_attach_a_screenshot

Navigate to the Adobe Reader's Preferences from Edit>Preferences>Security(enhanced)>Uncheck 'Enable Protected Mode at startup' and 'Enable Enhanced Security'> Click OK and check.

Note: Disabling the Protected Mode and Enhanced Security is only for testing purpose, please enable it back.

Try opening the PDF file on a browser and check.

Are you able to open the PDF file outside your domain?

Is it possible to share a PDF causing the issue with us so that we can test it at our end? To share the file, please use Adobe Send feature, login to https://cloud.acrobat.com/send using your Adobe ID(email) and password, upload the file, share the link to files via private message only, How Do I Send Private Message

What is the version of the OS installed?

Let us know how it goes and share your observation.

    Thanks,

    Anand Sri.
