Hello Andros!

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

Could you please share more details about the issue? Are you on a Windows machine or a Mac, and what is the version? The error is due to incompatibility between newer Adobe Reader versions and older Windows versions (like Windows 7). The CopyFile2 function is part of the Windows API introduced in Windows 8 and later, and is not available in Windows 7.

If you are installing or using the latest version of Acrobat or Acrobat Reader, see this technical specification requirement link for Acrobat and Reader, and the supported operating systems: System Requirements | Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe Acrobat Standard

Adobe recommends using the latest version of the app on supported hardware and operating systems.

Let us know if you have a different question or issue.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

En el enlace se habla de Windows 7. 32bit.

Yo utilizo Windows 7. 64bit

Acrobat Reader en de 32b.

Y tiene la opcion de trabajar compatible con windows 7.

Pero esta opcion, que ya he probado, congela al Reader.

¿Hay Reader de 64bits?

Hello Andros!

Yes, Adobe Acrobat Reader does have a 64-bit version available for Windows.

To download the 64-bit version:

  1. Visit the official Adobe Acrobat Reader distribution page: https://adobe.ly/42LJkDd
  2. Choose your operating system: Windows 7 - English - 64-bit
  3. Select the 64-bit version from the options.
  4. Download and install Acrobat Reader 64-bit.
  5.

If you're experiencing freezing issues when trying to use compatibility mode, switching to the 64-bit version should help, as it's designed to run natively on Windows 7 64-bit.

Note: See the technical specification help article to learn more about the compatibility of the Acrobat Reader 64-bit version, as the supported operating systems are: https://adobe.ly/431N6qD

  • Windows 11 (64-bit)
  • Windows 10 (64-bit) v1809 or later
  • Windows Server 2022
  • Windows Server 2019 (64-bit)
  • Windows Server 2016 (64-bit)

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
