Not able to see signature and date in a PDF file on Sharepoint

I use a chromebook and rely on Office 365 (Sharepoint, Outlook, One Drive apps) for my work duties.  I had been using Adobe Reader successfully to save my therapy notes in PDF format, add my signature and date to the documents and then upload to Sharepoint.  About 2 months ago, when I opened the uploaded files to look at in Sharepoint, my signature and date did not show. The page kind of scrolled and I could initally see the signature and date, but then it would disappear.  Again, I was not having any issue with the signature saving and showing on Sharepoint until about 2 months ago.  Did something change with Adobe?

I contacted Microsoft intially, thinking it was an issue with Office 365, but it is not.

Hi LParsons,

We're sorry for the trouble and for the delayed response. What is the version of the Adobe Reader freeware application installed on the machine? To identify, please take help from the article https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/identify-product-version.html

Are you using the digital signature to sign the PDF or the Adobe Fill and Sign tool?

There are two kinds of signature in PDF files.

1. A digital signature. These show up in the signature navigation panes. Signing is done using certificates or digital IDs. They might show up on the page.

2. An "electronic signature" also called a "wet signature". This is much more like a signature on paper. In fact, all you have is marks on the page. These are popular if offering no security or auditability. These might look like a stamp, a box, an ink scribble, a written name or anything.

Are you not able to see the signature and date in all the PDF files stored in Adobe Sharepoint or is it specific to one PDF file?

Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Reader DC 19.012.20040 installed, check for any pending updates from the help menu>select check for updates, reboot the machine and check.

Are these simple text PDFs or PDF forms with signature fields?

We're here to help, just need more info.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
