How to open a document in a new tab in the same window

    Hello I am using the  Version 2023.006.20380 of Acrobat Reader and it seems the problem has reappeared. Even though in the settings I have my box is unchecked, the files opened  are still in the same tab. I have rebooted and tried this several time, with same result. New files opening in same tab. 

    Any help would be really appreciated, as this thing is frustrating.
