Hi,

im used on my laptop to open (pdf)-files without the .pdf file extension with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

I experienced now that on my smartphone - android 7 - while opening a file without .pdf extension that the Adobe Reader tells me the following error message

translated: No access for this file possible. Checkout the memory location/ the network and try again.

Has anyone an explanation or is in the android app version in principle an opening of an file without .pdf extension not possible?

Macs have never cared about extensions. Other devices do. Ages ago, Mac users did not use extensions, but in more recent years, extensions are the norm so that the files can be compatible with other devices.

The fix is to use the extension.
