opening a pdf files gives me an error

what can be done?
( i can open it with foxit)

It shows that your PDF files is damaged and needs to be fixed, you can use a PDF repair tool to fix this issue.

The message means that Acroabt Reader found some issues in the PDF structure of the currently displayed page. Reader can handle some minor issues to make the PDF still viewable on screen. But in case that message appears, it really means, the PDF is damaged in some way.
