passcodes

I joined Adobe so many years ago and used an old hotmail address back in the day which I still have but never use. I certainly have no clue what my passcode for it is and need to access Adobe for so many things including a new printer I am trying to set up.  I've tried endlessly to reset a passcode and update this info but it wont allow me without remembering an old passcode... (um I can't remember the original passcode so why is this the only way to make a new passcode?) UGH I am so frustrated and could use some help.  I'm sure there is a very simple solution but I have yet to crack the 101 code.
