Hello, when I want to open a password protected pdf, the password input window always opens in the background. Where can I set that the password input window opens in the foreground? So I don't need to search for it.

Hi @Lars K.

Hope you are doing well.

As described above, you are opening the password-protected PDF. Is that pdf file you are opening in Acrobat Reader DC's desktop application or somewhere else?

No such preferences settings allow or disable the password pop-up to be displayed on the front screen.

It could be file specific. Would you please check with a different file?

Also, you may first close all the applications and processes running on your system and try to open the pdf file you are referring to.

Does it still open up the password dialog in the background?

Thanks,

Akanchha

Hi Akanchha, I have tried several files, all in the Adobe Acrobat desktop app. I noticed it when I tried to open a password protected file from mail. It doesn't matter if I open such a file out of Outlook or if I save it and then open it from the desktop. As long as Acrobat is not already open, an Acrobat process starts, but the password entry window opens behind already open program windows. The problem is reproducible on other systems.
