password on attachment changed

Question

we send out emails with attachment in pdf format, use a defualt of last 4 of a client social as the password. when the client returns the email it starts the password is incorrect & make sure caps lock is not on. #1 caps lock will not affect numbers. #2 the clients have swore they didnt change the password themself. what could be causing this?

Not sure if that's the issue here, but Acrobat now won't accept a password that's less than 6 characters.

Maybe it also has issues opening files with shorter passwords than that now, too... For security reasons, you should really make your passwords longer. Brute-forcing a 4-digit password is easily done.
