I'm unable to paste from the clipboard into the Search field (Find text field). Instead I have to type out the term I'm searching.

Hello @aniruddha_7154!

I hope you are doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response and the trouble. Is it happening with all the PDFs, or is it specific to one?

Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine: 25.001.20521 Planned update, Jun 02, 2025. Check for any pending updates from the Menu > help > check for updates, install the updates, restart the app, and the machine, and try again.

  • Right-click and Paste

    • Click into the Find box so it’s active, then right-click and choose Paste.

    • That context-menu paste always works, even when Ctrl + V doesn’t.

  • Use the Advanced Search Panel

    • Press Shift + Ctrl + F (Windows) or Shift + ⌘ + F (Mac) to open the Full Acrobat Search.

    • In that panel’s search field, Ctrl + V will paste normally.

  • Edit → Paste

    • With the Find box focused, open the Edit menu and choose Paste.

    • It’s a bit more clicks, but it works every time.

If the issue still persists, please provide the following information: the current version of the operating system on your device and the logs from the affected machine. To collect the logs, download and run the Log Collector tool. Make sure to select all log options and attempt to reproduce the issue. After that, close the Log Collector tool; it will generate the logs along with a log ID. Please share this log ID with us for further investigation.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

This is a highly inconvenient and frustrating bug that also occurs in version 24.001.30254 (64-bit) on Windows 11 (64-bit, ARM 26100.4770). Please fix this — Adobe licenses aren’t exactly cheap!

What's the exact version number of the application (You can find it out by going to Help - About Adobe Acrobat)? What's your OS version? From where are you copying the text you want to search for?

version 2024.002.20687 64 bit continuous release; version file version: 24.002.20687.0. It's run on Windows in a virtual machine on my Mac (sonoma 14.4.1), windows 11 pro (latest); I copy text from either Mac or windows environment (eg browsers or word etc)

Hi @ian36593205upzh

@ian36593205upzh

Thanks for reaching out.

I have tried to reproduce the issue at my end on Win 11 and Acrobat pro 24.02.20687 and its working fine.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://adobe.ly/4awNUXc

You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Win or enable the root account in MAC https://adobe.ly/3JmHpuc  and try using the application there and check.

Let us know how it goes.
