Question

PDF files receive error when opening

After the last update to Acrobat I have been having issues opening any pdf files.  I get an error message stating the file is possibly corrupt.  These are a lot of files that I cannot download again or I created.

My system backs up regularly so the backup file states the same thing.

All files were find a couple of months ago.  I need to know how to restore a file in Acrobat.

@Whovian56 Can you please share a screenshot of that error message? It can be many things!

What OS are you on? Version?

@Whovian56 I almost want to say th message does say ‘might be damaged or corrupted— if this is a tax form. make sure you have 100% downloaded the file. Many government and financial PDFs (especially in Canada and the US) use XFA forms. Try opening a government form in anything lik Firefox, Opera, DuckDuck, or Edge—Chrome doesn’t like these forms. I do IT work for the government, and I keep reminding the clients to open a PDF in anything that isn’t named Chrome!
