Question

Pdf objects

Hello,

What's the best software to extract objects from a given pdf? I assume that each object can be a pgn file. This is because one can rearrange the objects into a new pdf to obtain a better pdf for marketing reasons.

Thank you,

Lou

Your assumption is that all the page contents are raster images such as you have in PNG, TIFF, or JPEG files. That is not how PDF works. PDF content can be any arbitrary mixture of text displaye via use of fonts, vector graphics, and raster image graphics. Adobe Reader cannot do any extraction of the type you are requesting.

And the type of “rearranging” that you propose is not something that can be readily accomplished with even Adobe Acrobat Pro, much less Reader.

You are much better off getting the original source document (from which the PDF file in question was made) and doing your editing there, subsequently producing a new PDF file reflecting the rearranging that you desire.

Adobe Acrobat can export any page as PNG file.
