PDF's not opening

I can't open some of my PDF files with Acrobat Reader. Instead, it asks me to try Acrobat Pro and I can't get around that. I uninstalled Acrobat Reader and then re-downloaded it. Same problem!

Correct answer gueser

I tried that but the files were already assoicated with Abcrobat, and were listed as being Word documents. Weird, but I noted osmething. It was my own fault, I think. After I got my new laptop Geek Squad was so busy, I decided to migrate my programs nyself. It I was going from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Basically, I noted that when I was able to open some of my older PDFs, it noted "Adobe Acrobat DC (32-bit)". So, I searched for "Adobe Acrobat 64-bit" and downloaded that from the internet. Eveything works great now. Thanks for helping fine a solution.

Hi @gueser
Are you on Windows or Mac? It sounds like the pdf file extension is associated with Acrobat Pro.
In Windows, you can go to Fiel Exploree, right click on the PDF, choose Properties and then change the assocciated application that opens it (as shown in teh screenshot below).

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
