Pdf will only display in full screen mode

I am running the latest version of Acrobat Reader on the latest version of High Sierra. Acrobat Reader doesn't display any pdf file unless I select "Full Screen" mode. I can see the document in the print preview but not on the screen. Any ideas and thank you.
