Hi,

I work for a public Institute and we want to conserve raw data in a format PDF/A. It could take a lot of dataspace, in our case > 10Gb.

But the number of offset digits in Xref table does not allow excess 10 digits so a maximum size of a pdf is 9,999,999,999 bytes < 10GB.

Should the PDF standard spectification change to allow at last 11 digits ?

Thank

Cross reference steams have allowed larger files ever since PDF 1.5. And hence any PDF/A-2 or later file can be larger.
