PDFs not opening

 I have a free adobe account and I use a lot of PDF files in my business, the problem I have been having is that when I open my laptop from sleep mode and try to open a PDF it just does not happen and I have to restart my laptop to get it to work, I have been using PDFs for many years and this problem has only happened recently.
